Shelly was a keynote speaker at the 2018 BlogHer Creator's Summit in NYC alongside many successful, inspiring women, including Gabrielle Union, Amy Schumer, Maria Menounos, Tamron Hall, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Uzo Adubo, and Jessica Alba, among others.
At the 2016 P&G D&I Awards, Shelly spoke about the damaging effects of labels and how we can enable others to bring their full selves to work.
In May 2016, Shelly and her niece, Colleen participated in the StoryCorps Mobile Tour in Cincinnati, OH at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
